Se subdividen en tres categor\u00edas:<\/p>\n<h3>Estructuras de bioestratificaci\u00f3n:<\/h3>\n<p>Corresponden a aquellas estructuras que consisten en rasgos de estratificaci\u00f3n impartidos por la actividad de un organismo. Ejemplos: estromatolitos, oncolitos, rodolitos.<\/p>\n<h3>Estromatolitos\/Trombolitos<\/h3>\n<p>Resultan de la actividad de microbios y bacterias, que colonizan la superficie del sustrato. Los organismos m\u00e1s comunes son las cianobacterias, que durante la fotosintesis inducen la precipitaci\u00f3n de carbonato de calcio y el entrampamiento part\u00edculas sedimentarias. La laminaci\u00f3n se produce por variaciones en el aporte de sedimentos. La mata microbiana se reestablece luego de un episodio de r\u00e1pida depositaci\u00f3n, creciento entre el sedimento, lig\u00e1ndolo. Son de origen biog\u00e9nico similar a los estromatolitos, debido al crecimiento de\u00a0cianobacterias, microbios y\u00a0algas. Pueden tener hasta 30 cm. Son comunes en ambientes subtidales y lacustres.
