En el registro es com\u00fan reconocer las formas de lecho por su estructura interna (laminaci\u00f3n\/estratificaci\u00f3n entrecruzada), pero tambi\u00e9n puede preservarse la morfolog\u00eda externa. En condiciones de \u00abbaja energ\u00eda\u00bb las part\u00edculas comienzan a moverse por rolido, produciendo lecho plano (estructura: laminaci\u00f3n horizontal) en arenas gruesas, mientras que en arenas m\u00e1s finas (menor a 0,6 mm) se producen ondulaciones u \u00f3ndulas, que migran formando una cara de avalancha. Con el incremento del poder de la corriente las crestas pasan de ser rectas a sinuosas y luego linguoides. Los granos de arena quedan adheridos al sustrato formando mont\u00edculos (berrugas) o crestas subparalelas irregulares (ondulas). Por capilaridad el agua mantiene h\u00famedo los granos permitiendo as\u00ed retener otros granos. Son asim\u00e9tricas, con cara de barlovento m\u00e1s empinada. Crecen y migran en contra de la direcci\u00f3n del viento. Se generan a partir de\u00a0formas de lecho d\u00f3micas\u00a0que consisten en una parte convexa o domos (<i>hummocks<\/i>) y otra c\u00f3ncava o cubetas &#8211; senos &#8211; (<i>swales<\/i>). Se originan a partir de formas de lecho\u00a0generadas por flujos oscilatorios y\/o combinados durante eventos de tormentas, con longitudes de onda de entre 1 y 9 m, y alturas de 20 a 50 cm.\u00a0Son t\u00edpicas del <i>shoreface<\/i> y de la zona de transici\u00f3n en ambientes marinos o lacustres.
